M.D.Huffman Fine Furniture of Boston specializes in handmade, custom furniture, designed, constructed, and finished employing environmentally sound practices, using locally-sourced, sustainably-harvested, native hardwoods and softwoods whenever possible.  Craftsman Matthew Huffman grew up in a rural town in Northern Vermont.  Here he gained a deep respect and love for the forest, spending much of his free time exploring the acres of woods surrounding his parents’ home.  Matthew graduated from the North Bennet Street School’s two-year Cabinet and Furniture Making Program in February 2009.  Immediately prior, he spent five years timber framing homes throughout New England, after working for two years framing single-family, residential homes in Massachusetts.  Matthew graduated cum laude from Rensselaer with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering.  He currently lives with his wife in Brookline.  When not crafting, his continued appreciation for the outdoors is exhibited by his passion for telemark skiing, hiking, and traveling.
